About TAS

Message from the TAS President

The Tasmanian Branch is looking forward to a varied calendar of dinners, presentations, the annual Selby Smith Oration, timely networking and professional events. Committee contacts, program dates and further information will be provided as soon as possible. Our local membership in our small state continues to span government, Catholic and independent sectors, primary through to post-compulsory education levels and administrations, TAFEs, universities, central policy directorates and retired colleagues.

We share a similar aim to promote the College's goals through various initiatives and activities in our local area. Although the Branch Executive Committee will continue to be based at the Collegiate Institute, Davey St. Hobart, we will endeavour to collaborate regionally in Tasmania through video and desktop conferencing between our four regional centres: Hobart, Launceston, Burnie and Devonport, as well as meeting in varied locations.

If local members are interested to host a meeting later in the academic year, please email directly to

Jill Abell
