The Inaugural Cynthia Briggs Award
Empowerment through education
The award will be made for educational initiatives that confirm and enhance the fundamental human needs of individuals in terms of their sense of belonging (identity), autonomy (self-determination), mastery (achievement), and/or generosity (compassion/altruism). The collaboration could, for example, generate strong, resilient, capable, and/ or compassionate children, youth and/or adults who demonstrate qualities and capacities of empowerment.
Nominations for the, Cynthia Briggs Award may be made by Elders, stakeholders, collaborators, educators, mentors, parents, parent bodies, professional associations, community organisations and/ or individuals.
