Educators across all sectors are adapting to changes and challenges (including technological, economic and social). Through adopting innovative approaches educators are now at ‘the edge’ and going beyond it to improve student learning.
Hosted by the Australian College of Educators the (ACE), the 2015 National Conference will provide educators with the perfect forum to share and highlight cutting edge, creative and innovative practices, nationally and globally.
The ACE 2015 National Conference – 'Educators on the edge' promises to be an inspiring and forward looking event.
During the two busy conference days, some of Australia’s most prominent education thought-leaders and practitioners will be presenting on the following themes:
- Transitions in education
- Technology and innovation intersecting with learning
- What it means to be an ‘Educator on the edge’
- Innovative practices that educators are developing and using to enrich learning

Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre
This year's conference is set to take place in the award winning Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC).
The BCEC is located in the riverside South Bank Precinct, the hub of the city's cultural and entertainment activities enabling delegates to enjoy a range of extra activities during their time outside the conference. These include access to a wide range of cafes, restaurants and shops, riverfront parkland, the Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA), Queensland Theatre Company, and Australia's only city-based sand beaches. The ACE national Gala Dinner is one of the major events in the ACE calendar and is a great way for conference delegates to mingle in a relaxed environment.
The ACE Fellowships and the prestigious ACE College Medal for 2015 will be awarded at this dinner. These highlight the significant efforts of members who have made contributions to the field of education above and beyond their professional roles.
Featuring guest speaker
Ms Ann Vitale, MACE
As an ‘educator on the edge’, Ann will speak about her personal work experience in Kosovo and Iraq providing insights into the challenges inherent in attempting to re-establish and/or rebuild education facilities and programs in countries which are recovering from war, or undergoing conflict. Ann will also link her presentation to education and the wider educational climate present in Australia today.
