Relax and celebrate World Teachers’ Day with your colleagues from schools, preschools, universities and TAFE in the greater Coffs Harbour Area (Macksville to Ballina to Dorrigo to Lismore areas) as they receive Citations to acknowledge their outstanding achievements in education.

The event will be held at the award winning Osprey Restaurant where the food is prepared and service is provided by the hospitality students from this outstanding training restaurant. Ticket costs for this event include canapés and refreshments.

Our guest speaker  is renowned Gumbaynggirr storyteller, Uncle Michael Jarrett.

Uncle Michael Jarrett | Co-Ordinator | Coffs Harbour Language Nest

Michael is the co-ordinator of the Coffs Harbour Language Nest and his knowledge and experience has proven to be invaluable to the many students and staff of schools across the Coffs Coast.  Michael has appeared on National Television and ABC Radio supporting Aboriginal Education and Aboriginal Language.

Uncle Michael Jarrett is a renowned Gumbaynggirr storyteller. He is passionate about country, culture and teaching the Gumbaynggirr language.  Michael is well-known for his creativity, sense of humour, deep warmth towards people and generosity. He often provides ‘Welcome To Country’ ceremonies at regional and community events, as well as leading Indigenous language classes, camps and cultural storytelling.
