This event aims to support early career teachers in the process of building a rich and rewarding career. Early career teachers, faced with the challenges of daily teaching, sometimes struggle to think beyond the immediate needs of the classroom and attend to other strategies that will help them in the longer term.
The event will guide early career teachers with ideas to develop their support networks and mentor partnerships. The aim is to share valuable practical knowledge in order to help new teachers thrive.
Marise McConaghy, principal of Strathcona Baptist Girls Grammar School, will present her expectations for early career teachers and how they should be supported. Those active in professional networks and mentor partnerships will then share the ‘who, what, when, where and why’ of these interactions, with time available to workshop these ideas.
