As we celebrate World Teachers’ Day this year, Dr Jared Cooney Horvath will focus on memory and attention as he presents on the topic, Linking Neuroscience & Education: translating brain insights into practical advice for teachers

Dr Horvath’s Science of Learning Group aims to re-empower educators and raise the status of teaching as a profession through exploring cutting edge concepts, training educators in how to apply and assess novel ideas within the classroom, and offering long-term personalized support.

In addition to Dr Horvath’s presentation, the Australian College of Educators Hills/Parramatta Region celebrates World Teachers’ Day each year by inviting Principals to nominate exemplary teachers in their schools to receive an ACE World Teachers’ Day Certificate Award.

Ticket costs are inclusive of a two course evening meal with tea & coffee. Beverages are available at bar prices.

Dr Jared Cooney Horvath MEd, PhD

Jared Cooney Horvath, MEd, PhD, is an expert in the field of Educational Neuroscience with a focus on translating neuroscientific principles to enhance teaching and learning practices within the classroom. Jared has conducted research and lectured at Harvard University, Harvard Medical School, the University of Southern California, and the University of Melbourne. He has taught at schools around the United States and Australia.

Currently, Jared is undertaking research in collaboration with the Science of Learning Research Centre at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education and serves as co-president of The Science of Learning Group & The Education Neuroscience Initiative – two groups dedicated to bringing the latest in brain and behavioural research to teachers, students, and parents alike.
